School is the best place to instill  values . English Literature whether fiction,drama or poem has some value element positive or negative woven through characters .Students should be able to relate these values in their to day life  and try to imbibe the good values and become happy and healthy citizens of tomorrow.
Here are a few  value based questions for second term .Try to discuss  them .

1. ”All things great or small. Lord God made them all” Substantiate this statement in the light of the poems “Snake” by D.H. Lawrence and “Rhyme of ancient mariner” by S.T.Coleridge.

2.  As compared with the immortality and perennial nature of Nature, human being and his achievement is temporal, transitory and evasive.Elucidate with reference to the thematic essence of the poem “Ozymandias” by P.B.Shelley.

3.”Honour and shame  rise from nowhere.Play well your role ,there lies all your honour” are words of Alexander Pope.  “Patol Babu”, a character  in  Satyajit Ray’s “Patol Babu, the film actor”  is a replica of Pope’s words. Prove the above statement with anecdotes from the fiction Patol Babu, the film actor.

4. A person who possesses the gift of the gab  and has persuasive nature can upturn any situation Proper understanding of human emotion,feeling the pulse of the audience and usage of simple diction are all the prerequisites of a born orator and  how did Antony employ such skills to sway the mob into “rage and mutiny”

5.”The advancement of Science and Technology” eases the burden of life and enables us to solve life’s enigmas.It is a blessing in disguise.Substantiate the above statement in the light of the fiction”Virtually true”.
